Overview
The Staff Health Officer 1 (SHO1) is responsible for implementing and administering the ICRC staff health program in the Manila area, supporting the health and well-being of resident and mobile staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor medical fitness evaluations (recruitment, annual exams, and driver tests) for Manila-based staff
- Deliver context-specific health briefings, malaria kit distribution, and MHPSS orientation for all new staff
- Coordinate and arrange first aid training and refreshers for staff
- Analyze and validate medical leaves of Manila-based staff, and contribute to absenteeism monitoring
- Ensure 24/7 access to emergency medical care
- Respond to emergencies and coordinate with appropriate units for MEDEVAC, repatriation, and follow-up care
- Offer psychological first aid and peer support in response to critical incidents
- Contribute to staff health components of crisis preparedness and response plans
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure harmonized service delivery and quality control
- Administer medical reimbursement (MR) processes for Manila and unconnected staff
- Maintain updated records of ICRC staff and dependents linked to partner health facilities
Required Experience
- Three years' clinical experience.
- Experience in mental health and stress management.
- Experience in medical evacuation and transportation.
- Knowledge of tropical health and public health.
- ICRC experience an asset.
Qualifications
Must be a medical doctor or a licensed nurse
