Overview
The Communications Officer will develop communications products to enhance the organization's visibility and reputation, support program delivery with clear messaging, and design and implement awareness campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to donor requirements and visibility guidelines.
- Produce high-quality communication materials, including success stories, case studies, and human-interest stories.
- Produce engaging content for digital channels and social media platforms.
- Plan, design, and implement communication campaigns and awareness activities.
- Support the planning, development, and implementation of mass media and social media EORE campaigns.
- Support engagement with international, regional, and local media.
- Support DRC partners in producing communication and visibility materials.
- Contribute to building the capacity of DRC staff and partners in communication skills.
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years' work experience in the media and communications field, and experience working with humanitarian, development and NGO/INGO actors.
- Proven experience producing high-quality communication and visibility materials, with demonstrated experience working with donor visibility requirements.
- Proven experience in media engagement and writing for social media and web portals.
- Experience in the design and use of multimedia software.
- Experience in capacity-building training and coaching non-specialist teams in communication skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism or similar relevant qualifications.
