Overview

The UN Resident Coordinator’s Office (UN RCO) in Bangkok is seeking two interns to contribute to economics and data management-related work, providing an opportunity to learn about the UN system at the country level and support RCO activities and reporting.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent research and provide inputs to reports and analyses on sustainable agricultural development, health, climate action, disaster risk management, youth, gender, and disability inclusion;
  • Support the development and updating of databases and other information management activities;
  • Support the UNCT and UN RCO in achieving annual monitoring and reporting requirements through the UNINFO platform;
  • Attend relevant capacity development initiatives, training, and meetings, and provide briefing materials;
  • Support any additional tasks undertaken by the RCO on a needs basis.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. A field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Applicants must be a student in the final year of a first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme. Applicants must have good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.

Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
Contract Duration
5 months
Work Modality
in-person and full time, with the opportunity of working remotely 2 days a week
Remuneration
The internship is unpaid. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
