Overview
Consultant to conduct a study on the implementation of Women, Peace and Security (WPS) in selected African countries, assessing current status, evaluating progress, identifying challenges, and documenting lessons learned.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct systematic data collection from official government sources and institutions, and civil society and community-level data collection through surveys and qualitative approaches (FGDs and KIIs).
- Perform change analysis for the 2000-2025 period, analyzing the effectiveness of WPS National Action Plans, identifying good practices, challenges, lessons learned, and policy recommendations.
- Facilitate and/or support targeted virtual consultations with UN, AU, Member States, and civil society stakeholders.
- Provide 3 Country Profiles aligned to the AU’s Continental Results Framework and one cross-country report on Women, Peace and Security across the three countries.
Required Experience
Experience working with UN, AU, or other international/regional organizations is highly desirable.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in political science, gender studies, international relations, peace and conflict studies, or a related field.
