Overview
Provide technical support and coordination for the implementation of Gender, Equity, and Human Rights (GER) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) related interventions in Ukraine.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support on GER, GBV, and coordination with regional offices, national counterparts, and international community.
- Update and adapt GER- and GBV-relevant guidelines, materials, and tools to the national context.
- Develop a country workplan for GER and GBV mainstreaming and integrate gender-responsive and GBV-sensitive approaches into workplans.
- Conduct analysis of sex- and age-disaggregated data, gender analysis, and GBV risk assessments.
- Prepare communication and dissemination materials on WHO’s role and technical assistance on GER and GBV.
- Integrate GBV prevention and response into essential health services, with attention to conflict-affected and displaced populations.
- Develop a training course structure for capacity building on gender-responsive, equity-oriented, GBV-sensitive, and rights-based health systems and policies.
- Support the integration of GER and GBV components into educational curricula.
- Prepare and coordinate missions for WHO staff and external consultants.
- Prepare regular reports and updates on progress, challenges, and lessons learned.
- Explore fundraising opportunities and contribute to proposal development.
- Assist in executing other tasks as requested.
Required Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in health and/or social sectors, including public sector experience, with proven ability to write reports, review policies, and analyze policy documents. Desirable: Relevant work experience with(in) international institutions and organizations in the area of policy advice for GBV and GER and/or health systems strengthening / health care services delivery. Relevant experience with(in) WHO or the United Nations.
Qualifications
First-level university degree in communication, social policy, healthcare, health policy, public management, economics, demography, public health, or related field. Desirable: Master's degree in communication, social policy, healthcare, health policy, public management, economics, demography, public health, or related field.
