Overview

The Programme Support Officer will assist in the development and implementation of the country office’s resource mobilization and external liaison functions, including project development, reporting, and fundraising.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to fundraising priorities by providing inputs for new programmes, concept notes, and project proposals.
  • Review resource requirements and document programmatic needs, gaps, and opportunities.
  • Support compliance by checking proposal development and donor contract management.
  • Support fundraising actions by maintaining contact with donor relations counterparts.
  • Coordinate the compilation of activity reports and papers for distribution.
  • Participate in external partner engagement by providing administrative and technical support for events.
  • Support liaison and advocacy routines by providing information and inputs to relevant authorities and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to knowledge management by keeping accurate records of correspondence and project files.
Required Experience
  • Master’s degree with two years of relevant professional experience; or University degree with four years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in supporting results-based project development and reporting, technical writing and editing, preferably in the international development/humanitarian sector.
  • Demonstrated work experience in donor relations, proposal development, and grant management in the displacement and migration sector.
  • Previous experience working in an United Nations Agency, Fund, or Programme, and knowledge of the UN Common System is essential.
  • Previous experience with and knowledge of foreign government funding mechanisms is essential.
  • Previous work in issues such as migration, livelihoods and job creation strategies, displacement, stabilization in the Middle East or Iraq is essential.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in International Relations, International Development, Political or Social Sciences, Migration Studies, Law, or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
  • University degree in the above fields.

Languages Required
Fluency in English is required (oral and written).
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge of Arabic and another official UN language (Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an advantage.
