Overview
Manage, coordinate, and oversee the implementation of Component 2 (Readiness) of the COFA READY project in Palau. This role involves collaboration with government counterparts, development partners, and UN agencies to ensure effective programme implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the implementation of the COFA READY project Component 2 in Palau.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with UN Agencies, humanitarian organizations, government, the donor, and community interlocutors.
- Coordinate the design and development of new programme activities.
- Oversee the development of yearly programme workplans.
- Provide operational management, guidance, and technical supervision to staff.
- Ensure programmatic decisions are shared with the donor.
- Coordinate and manage the compilation of programme updates and briefs.
- Ensure timely and quality preparation and submission of all interim programme reports.
- Monitor progress against strategic objectives and programme benchmarks.
- Oversee the production of visibility/communications materials.
- Collaborate closely with the Procurement and Logistics Unit.
- Coordinate the development, dissemination, and regular update of assessment and monitoring tools.
- Draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for programme activities, if required.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of data collection and analysis mechanisms.
- Undertake travel duties nationally or internationally, as required.
Required Experience
- Five years of relevant professional experience with a Master's degree, or seven years of relevant professional experience with a University degree.
- Extensive experience in implementing disaster preparedness and response programmes, community recovery and strengthening government and community capacity.
- Previous experience coordinating a multi-year donor-funded project.
- Demonstrated experience managing programs that effectively address solutions for disaster readiness and response.
- Experience working in the North Pacific is strongly preferred.
- Experience in organizing consultations, workshops and seminars with high-level stakeholders.
- Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Humanitarian Affairs, Economic Development, Business or Public Administration, International Studies or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or, University degree in the above fields.
