Overview
Officer Santé Nutrition responsible for implementing and monitoring nutrition activities in Tenenkou health areas, focusing on malnutrition screening and management for children under 5.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify nutrition focal points by beneficiary villages
- Train community health workers/relays/focal points on malnutrition screening
- Support beneficiary training on malnutrition screening
- Monitor screenings conducted by beneficiaries at household and village levels
- Follow up on referred children for care with community actors
- Collect data on beneficiary training, screening, and referral
- Ensure malnutrition management in therapeutic feeding centers using simplified protocols
- Ensure quality of care according to the revised IMCI protocol
- Organize monthly formative supervisions in therapeutic feeding center sites
- Ensure adherence to the IMCI protocol
- Ensure proper data collection on Commcare
- Ensure availability of nutritional inputs at community health worker sites
- Provide support to nutrition officers on work organization
- Plan and organize training for officers based on project needs
- Hold regular team meetings
- Perform any other tasks assigned by management
- Regularly submit an activity schedule
- Send weekly activity reports
- Prepare monthly nutrition activity reports for the intervention zone
- Inform supervisor of any notable changes or relevant information
- Ensure good management of provided materials
- Act as liaison between the project and local administrative and traditional authorities
Required Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in supervising nutrition activities
- Experience in implementing simplified protocols
- Experience with simplified approaches is an asset
- Knowledge of the base locality
Qualifications
Doctorate level in medicine
