Overview
The Education Officer is responsible for the initiation, implementation, monitoring, and technical supervision of educational activities in targeted areas, ensuring access, continuity, and quality of learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Manager to develop monthly work plans for educational activities.
- Develop Terms of Reference (TOR), budgets, and purchase requests for awareness campaigns and teacher training.
- Coordinate community engagement activities with local structures to stimulate demand for education.
- Supervise the implementation of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach and monitor skill assessments.
- Conduct regular field visits and classroom observations.
- Ensure the distribution of school kits and furniture.
- Collect data on school attendance and student performance.
- Produce weekly and monthly reports on education performance indicators.
- Maintain and update the database of student test results.
- Document best practices and lessons learned.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with school inspectors and principals for pedagogical mentoring.
- Ensure the integration of child protection and PSEA/VBG awareness into all school activities.
Required Experience
At least 3 years of experience in the implementation of educational projects in humanitarian or development contexts.
Qualifications
University degree (Bac+3 or higher) in education sciences, social sciences, or a related field.
