Overview
The Manager Nutrition will be responsible for managing the nutrition component of the project in three health zones, supervising nutritional assessments, and coordinating nutrition activities with partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the nutrition component in South Kivu province, supervising nutritional assessments.
- Provide technical support to the nutrition team and implementing partners.
- Develop and adapt technical tools for training.
- Supervise project implementation, ensuring quality, compliance, and adherence to international standards.
- Ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.
- Regularly update planning tools (work plans, procurement, recruitment, expenditure) and monitoring tools.
- Review budget consumption and performance against objectives.
- Organize weekly coordination and monitoring meetings with the Nutrition team.
- Produce and share monthly internal activity reports.
- Draft external narrative reports for the nutrition component.
- Conduct regular field visits for coaching, advising, and supervising teams.
- Ensure collection, consolidation, and transmission of data for monitoring and reporting.
- Ensure ethical and robust data collection and information management systems.
- Verify and validate deliverables from partner structures.
- Ensure effective and transparent accountability mechanisms.
- Organize workshops to capture lessons learned.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance for all project nutrition activities.
- Define and implement activities for maximum coverage and impact.
- Communicate regularly with the Senior Health Coordinator to integrate nutrition priorities.
- Maintain professional relationships with team members, fostering teamwork and providing supervision.
- Ensure Timesheets and performance objectives are set, monitored, and evaluated.
- Assist in the recruitment of nutrition staff.
- Ensure continuous training and capacity building of staff.
- Facilitate the recruitment of the project technical team.
- Ensure team members understand and assume their roles and responsibilities.

- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders in DRC.
- Develop strategic partnerships with local organizations.
- Represent IRC with local communities, ministries, international agencies, local partners, and donors.
- Organize donor site visits.
- Develop evidence-based advocacy arguments.
- Identify and develop partnerships with local and international implementing partners.
- Ensure project team members are aware of security issues and adhere to SOPs.
- Analyze security situation and ensure minimum security conditions are met before staff deployment.
- Encourage team members to report security incidents and rumors.
Required Experience
- At least 5 years of professional experience in managing Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) cases.
- At least five years of experience in coordination, implementation, and management of nutrition projects in humanitarian and development contexts.
- Previous experience in conducting nutritional assessments and implementing the Family MUAC approach is highly desirable.
- Experience in combining nutrition programs with other programs (e.g., health, protection, education, and WASH).
- Proven skills in project design/proposal development and grants management.
- Experience in capacity building of national and local implementing partners.
- Experienced professional in project management with a focus on Nutrition, minimum 5 years of experience within an international NGO.
- Experience working in/with health centers and HGRs in rural and urban areas will be an asset.
- Previous collaboration with international NGOs, DPS, BCZS, health facilities, and community organizations.
- Solid experience in staff supervision and capacity building through coaching, training, and formative supervision.
- Solid experience in project monitoring and evaluation, as well as accountability mechanisms.
- Solid reporting experience.
- Experience working within a multicultural team.
Qualifications
- A1/A0 nutritionist degree with significant professional experience.
- A master's degree in nutrition would be a plus.
