Overview
The Technical Analyst for Youth Empowerment Initiatives will serve as the focal point for youth empowerment, mainstreaming youth into the country office portfolio, leading youth-led programmes, and facilitating youth contribution to SDGs through partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and provide technical oversight for the monitoring of project activities.
- Establish, implement, and strengthen timely reporting mechanisms.
- Act as the technical focal point for Youth Empowerment, providing strategic guidance and quality assurance.
- Lead the collection, analysis, and interpretation of project data.
- Develop high-quality analytical outputs, including dashboards and data visualizations.
- Coordinate the strategic communication of results.
- Integrate gender-responsive and inclusive economic, environmental, and social analysis.
- Oversee the timely documentation of programme results.
- Ensure and coordinate the implementation of YUMEE, YDEEP, and other youth-related projects.
- Provide input for the Human Development and Resilience Governance unit on evaluation needs.
- Analyze data for the evaluation process.
- Supervise project team and coordinate with project board and stakeholders.
- Support mainstreaming youth empowerment within UNDP country office.
- Provide high-quality data and strategic inputs for improving youth empowerment activities.
- Ensure timely implementation of evaluation recommendations.
- Ensure implementation of gender equality accountability framework and Gender equality Results Based Management at project level.
- Assist in maintaining strategic partnerships with key development partners.
- Provide support in strengthening cooperation with key stakeholders.
- Support the communication of the Democratic Governance programme/projects for resource mobilization.
- Facilitate information sharing and dialogue within the donor community.
- Contribute to the implementation of Evaluation Knowledge Management and Learning Strategy.
- Establish and update documentation of research reports, studies and evaluations.
- Facilitate and participate in results-oriented monitoring and evaluation training efforts.
- Contribute to the network for youth mainstreaming learning and knowledge sharing.
- Ensure key programme and project results data and promotional material are available.
Required Experience
- Applicants with a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are required to have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in programme/project management in the domains of Youth Entrepreneurship or Youth Upskilling & Reskilling, or Youth on Climate Action.
- Desired experience includes: usage of computers and office software packages, working with UNDP or other UN agencies on programming related to sustainable development and the SDGs, designing, monitoring, or managing youth empowerment portfolios, mobilizing resources/building strategic partnerships, working with financial institutions, development partners, universities, venture capitals on innovative finance or impact investment, impact investment, emerging markets, and developing economies, supporting the administration of Learning Management Systems or digital learning technology, and supervisory or team leadership capacity.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Public Policy, Economics, Finance, International Relations, or other related fields is required; or A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas mentioned above, in combination with two (2) additional years of relevant professional experience.
