Overview
Internship supporting the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in New York to integrate human rights into the work of intergovernmental bodies.
Key Responsibilities
- Researching, identifying and analysing international human rights trends in intergovernmental bodies
- Providing support to the organisation of relevant meetings
- Supporting the gathering of best practices, statistics and data related to intergovernmental meetings
- Supporting human rights officers on specific priority countries, regions and/or thematic areas
- Assisting in drafting and editing various documents, reports, and outreach materials
- Attending relevant meetings
Required Experience
No prior experience is necessary
Qualifications
- Enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) OR
- Enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent)
- Relevant coursework in human rights, law, international affairs, public administration, communication
