Overview
The internship is located within the Population and Social Statistics Section (PSS) of the Statistics Division of ESCAP. The role involves assisting with various statistical areas and supporting capacity-building and communication activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with work on gender statistics, population and housing census, migration, displacement and statelessness statistics, disability statistics, population registers, citizen data, the regional CRVS initiative, and other related areas.
- Conduct literature reviews on statistical frameworks, indicators, case studies and country practices.
- Contribute to drafting background papers, presentations, blogs and technical documents.
- Support the organization and servicing of meetings and events.
- Provide support to capacity-building activities for countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
- Support communication activities related to the work of the section.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Required Experience
No working experience is required.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent).
