Overview
This internship position is in the Communications and External Relations (CER), Office of the Secretary-General, UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD), based in Geneva, Switzerland. The role assists in creating compelling content and performing edits for digital and print formats.
Key Responsibilities
- - Assist in creating compelling content around sustainable development, trade, investment, finance or the digital economy.
- - Perform initial edits and help drafting and editing varied content for digital and print formats.
- - Support the creation and development of multimedia content.
- - Assist in identifying the latest editorial practices, including Artificial Intelligence tools for communications, to enhance workflow efficiency.
Required Experience
No working experience is required for this internship.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
- Should be computer literate in standard software applications, as well as in Adobe InDesign and Datawrapper;
- Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter;
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes willingness to understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
- The University degree must be in the area of economics, including environmental economics, development, political science or other social sciences deemed appropriate.
