Overview
The Senior Education Assistant will coordinate and monitor educational activities, support the implementation of the Refugee Education Strategy, and ensure access to education for refugees.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and follow up on educational activities, including distribution of school kits and tuition fees, construction of classrooms, identification and follow-up of students with disabilities, monitoring enrollment and attendance, needs assessments, and contributing to the organization of exams.
- Follow up on the implementation of ideas boxes and orientation training.
- Assist in disseminating scholarship offers and participating in candidate selection.
- Monitor the management of the digital learning center and implement financial education training.
- Implement awareness campaigns on the importance of education and continuing studies.
- Coordinate activities with other education sector actors and local education authorities.
- Participate in coordination meetings and draft mission reports.
- Revise partnership agreements and contribute to information dossiers.
- Draft reports for donors and coordinate the production of the SIGE report.
- Coordinate and facilitate donor missions.
Required Experience
- 2 years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor's degree.
- Demonstrated work experience in education programmes.
- Field experience in education programme implementation and coordination in humanitarian and/or development contexts.
- Experience working with Governments, Ministry of Education and other line Ministries.
- Demonstrated work experience in refugee education programmes (desirable).
- Experience in the area of child protection (desirable).
- Experience with educational research, teaching or education administration (desirable).
- Significant experience in education within UNHCR (desirable).
Qualifications
- University degree (Licence) in education, social work, or international development.
- Certifications in Business Administration, Education, or Social Sciences.
