Overview
Internship opportunity with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) focusing on drug control and treaty monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze information on drug control approaches and developments.
- Assist in evaluating Government compliance with international drug control conventions.
- Provide support in the substantive servicing of INCB sessions, including research and documentation preparation.
- Contribute to the preparation of various documents, newsletters, and public information materials.
- Assist in the analysis of responses to INCB questionnaires.
- Assist in the implementation of INCB decisions.
- Assist in the analysis of data submitted by competent national authorities.
- Attend and take notes at meetings.
- Perform other tasks as required.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
Qualifications
- Applicants must be enrolled in, or have recently completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or be enrolled in, or have recently completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Be computer literate in standard software applications.
- Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.
