Overview
Consultant to mainstream gender and social inclusion in CIF's portfolio, reporting, and evaluation, and to generate and synthesize evidence on these topics.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance data management and information flow on gender and social metrics.
- Coordinate and support Gender Team engagement with other CIF teams, represent the team in meetings, and contribute gender perspectives to knowledge products.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of gender and social inclusion components in CIF-financed projects.
- Support the drafting of periodic statutory reports and ad hoc documents.
- Facilitate engagement with MDB counterparts, preparing meeting minutes, and following-up on agreed actions.
- Draft case-studies on activities carried out by MDBs.
- Support the drafting, finalization, and dissemination of relevant knowledge products.
- Assist in designing and drafting materials for knowledge-sharing events.
- Support the consultation process for the finalization of CIF’s Action Plan.
- Gather data from MDBs to monitor implementation of the Action Plan.
- Collaborate with Portofolio and Results team to embed gender reporting into reporting processes.
- Draft case-studies of gender and social inclusion best-practices from CIF-financed projects.
Required Experience
- Work experience in promoting gender equality, recognizing and assessing differentiated experiences and vulnerabilities of women, men, and gender-diverse individuals in the face of climate change; identifying gender disparities in access to resources, decision-making power, and opportunities, and understanding how these disparities intersect with other social dimensions.
- Sectoral experiences working on social dimensions and gender equality aspects of climate change, particularly in the context of energy transitions, nature-based solutions or disaster risk reduction or urban planning etc.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in development, preferably in areas such as knowledge generation, research, advocacy, policy, or projects/programs.
- Private sector experience in climate change mitigation and or adaptation projects is a plus.
- Working knowledge of the processes of international financial institutions.
- Experience working in developing countries preferred.
Qualifications
• Graduate degree in a relevant discipline, such as sociology, anthropology, geography, economics, gender, international development, law, environment, or climate science.
