Overview
The Protection Officer (Child Protection) will lead Safe Healing and Learning Space (SHLS) activities and awareness-raising initiatives on child protection and child protection case management within targeted communities. The role ensures the delivery of quality, inclusive, and safe participation and child protection services for children.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of SHLS and information dissemination activities on Child Protection.
- Develop and implement monthly and quarterly workplans for child protection activities.
- Update and document beneficiary data, attendance sheets, activities records, and monitoring data.
- Coordinate with relevant focal persons and participate in meetings and monitoring activities.
- Assess SHLS facilitators’ capacities and identify areas for skills development.
- Lead delivering community awareness raising sessions, facilitate training and mentoring for SHLS facilitators and community volunteers.
- Ensure activities are inclusive, gender-sensitive, and accessible to children with disabilities.
- Collaborate with community members, local authorities, and partner organizations.
- Ensure that case management team maintains an up-to-date service mapping.
- Support case workers in case planning, involving families as appropriate.
- Support Case Workers to conduct case conferences with relevant service providers.
- Prepare for and lead structured individual supervision sessions with each case worker.
- Promote safeguarding, PSEA, and Do-No-Harm principles, ensuring adherence to confidentiality.
