Overview
Internship opportunity supporting the Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation, focusing on policy analysis, communications, advocacy, and event liaison.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to the 2023-2026 Work Programme and the 2030 Pact for Effective Development Co-operation, including research on development effectiveness trends.
- Contribute to policy research and development of policy/practice products such as issue briefs, discussion papers, country stories, blog posts, and practice notes.
- Support the 4th GPEDC monitoring exercise, including drafting communications and providing administrative and analytical support.
- Support implementation of the 2023 GPEDC 2023-2026 Communication and Outreach Plan, drafting newsletters, stories of progress, key messages, talking points, and social media content.
- Update GPEDC’s new website, manage the data visualization platform, and act as the focal point for the Global Dashboard on monitoring.
- Draft and publish on GPEDC’s official social media platforms (Twitter and LinkedIn) and update the GPEDC official Trello Board.
- Provide logistical support to annual events organized under the Global Partnership, including workshops, webinars, and Steering Committee meetings.
- Assist in developing, launching, and managing an online virtual engagement platform for the 4th High-Level Meeting.
- Draft communication with multiple partners including OECD and GPEDC Steering Committee members.
Required Experience
- Previous experience in research and policy development, communications, advocacy, large-scale event planning is an asset.
- Experience in developing countries is desirable.
- Knowledge of, or direct experience working with effective development co-operation issues, is an asset.
Qualifications
- Candidate must be enrolled in a degree programme in a development related field such as economics, public administration, public policy or international relations/international development studies.
- Applicants must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in a post graduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme, or higher);
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as a bachelor’s degree or equivalent);
- Have recently graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.
