Overview

The role involves supporting UNICEF's cross-border operations in Sudan through efficient inventory and pipeline management within the Logistics and Supply Section.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide input and advice on Pipeline from Corridor.
  • Participate in forecasting, planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of supply chain operations.
  • Support supply emergency preparedness and response activities.
  • Conduct market research for logistics cross-border operations.
  • Liaise with Chad Supply team to ensure establishment of Long-Term Arrangements (LTAs).
  • Provide logistics input into distribution plans.
  • Liaise with supply colleagues and clients to ensure pipeline monitoring.
  • Perform research, collect data, conduct analysis, and produce reports.
  • Provide specialized support in logistics.
  • Identify needs for contracting of logistics third party services and manage contracting.
  • Manage documentation processing for logistics operations.
  • Manage UNICEF warehouse facilities and operations.
  • Maintain warehousing and inventory management processes.
  • Organize and operationalize distribution plans.
  • Assess availability of space and prepare stacking and storage plans.
  • Supervise receipt of consignments and dispatch of supplies.
  • Account for inventory status from source to beneficiary.
  • Carry out regular physical counts of inventory.
  • Prepare documentation for commodity disposal.
  • Participate in events/meetings to build partnerships with UN organizations.
  • Identify opportunities for capacity building of Partner counterparts.
  • Support the capacity building of staff on procurement processes and procedures.
  • Document lessons learned and best practices.
  • Contribute to knowledge management within the Supply section.
  • Ensure timely and effective management performance of staff if managerial responsibility exists.
  • Ensure knowledge exchange and learning is prioritized.
Required Experience

Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible professional work experience in the field of Supply chain and logistics.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in one of the following fields is required: supply chain, business administration, contract/commercial law, or another relevant technical field.

Languages Preferred
Knowledge of the Arabic language is an asset.
