Overview
The Project Officer will coordinate and operationally deliver high-priority initiatives within Ghana’s energy and extractive landscapes, focusing on energy transition, climate finance, and critical minerals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide primary coordination for the Ghana Energy Transition and Investment Plan (GETAPI).
- Serve as operational link for multi-stakeholder engagement.
- Support the coordination of technical data collection and investment requirement gathering.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to promote capital scaling.
- Liaise with relevant Government agencies to source, validate, and utilize high-accuracy data.
- Identify and coordinate midstream processing opportunities for critical minerals.
- Support the technical development of integrated strategic plans at the intersection of minerals and energy.
- Coordinate relationships between the Government of Ghana, DFIs, and the private sector.
- Engage with industry associations and parastatals to catalyze the renewable energy manufacturing sector.
- Facilitate investor dialogues focused on removing regulatory bottlenecks.
Required Experience
- A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in the energy, minerals, and/or investment sectors.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement within the energy, manufacturing, and investment sectors.
- Proven coordination and relationship-building capabilities in a professional setting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Renewable Energy, Climate Policy, Energy, Natural Resource Management, Economics, Public Policy with 2 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree (or equivalent) in any of the above or related fields with 0 years of relevant experience.
- Desired: Professional certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or Sustainable Finance.
