Overview

The Information and Communication Technology Intern will acquire working knowledge and assist in various ICT activities within the IOM Regional Office in Panama.


Key Responsibilities
  • Acts as focal point for receipt and processing of user requests (help desk).
  • Assist ICT regional team with ticketing system.
  • Provides technical support on relevant hardware and software systems.
  • Install application systems software and hardware according to specifications.
  • Help to maintain an IT inventory of active and retired equipment.
  • Conducts research on new technologies as requested; keeps abreast of developments in the field; assists in testing and evaluating new products and technologies.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned.
Required Experience

No former work experience is required. Experience in the usage of PHP, JavaScript, CSS and MySQL and knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Power Application and MS Teams. Experience in developing web and mobile applications as well as in the field of Artificial Intelligence will be an advantage.

Qualifications

Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within one year of graduation. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information technology studies or a related field from an accredited academic institution or University, within one year of graduation; or Be enrolled in a graduate school programme in the mentioned areas (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).

Fluency in English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of some of the national languages from the region (Spanish, etc.) is an advantage.

Remuneration
Depending on experience and location, interns are granted a small monthly stipend to help offset costs.
