Overview

This position is responsible for implementing and supervising activities at nutrition sites, conducting case management, psychosocial support and stimulation for children, and positive parenting sessions for parents and caregivers.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support child protection activities and mainstream protection to implement brighter futures programming, psychosocial first aid and parenting.
  • Ensure continuous update of the service map of protection partners for referrals and support.
  • Support the Outcome Manager in data analysis related to child protection needs and to develop program reports.
  • Act as a strategic representative of IRC, actively engaging in coordination mechanisms and platforms at local and state levels.
  • Supervise, mentor, and build the capacity of Incentive workers.
  • Support the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data related to child protection indicators.
  • Support the Outcome Manager (Safety) in the organization and facilitation of learning events, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Required Experience
  • At least 3 years’ experience in implementing child protection programs in humanitarian or development settings.
  • Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children at the OTP and SC.
  • Experience in supporting the delivery of psychosocial activities, emergency response, child protection case management including family tracing and reunification, and setting up child safeguarding mechanisms.
  • Demonstrated experience in program management, project design, use of project design tools, and donor report writing.
  • Experience in working in remote and hard-to-reach areas with limited amenities.
Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or HND in Social Works, Psychology, Education, and any of the other social sciences

• Knowledge of the local language Hausa, will be an added value.
