Overview
Provide technical and operational leadership for the Special Care Newborn Unit (SCANU) and child health department, focusing on neonatal and child health in a humanitarian camp setting. Ensure the delivery of standardized, high-quality newborn care and manage critical cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and operational leadership for the Special Care Newborn Unit (SCANU), including the child health department.
- Ensure the delivery of standardized, high-quality newborn care, including management of sick and premature infants and related critical cases.
- Implement evidence-based clinical protocols and monitor clinical outcomes.
- Oversee neonatal equipment and resources, ensuring functionality and readiness.
- Work collaboratively with obstetricians, nurses, midwives, and other clinical staff.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and capacity-building for the neonatal care team.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience practising independently as a Paediatrician.
- 5 years of job experience in pediatric medicine, SCANU/NICU and child nutrition field.
- Previous experience in managing paediatric complications often associated with humanitarian emergencies.
Qualifications
- MBBS degree recognised by the BMDC with DCH/MCPS/FCPS/MD or equivalent degree.
- Up to date registration license from the Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council.
- Up-to-date evidence of current licence and registration to practice.
- Advanced life support, paediatric life support and neonatal life support trained or their equivalents.
