Overview
The role will lead on the contextualization/adaptation of SGBV SoPs, procedures, and tools and providing timely feedback and input to contribute to learning and evidence generation in SGBV for all Egypt Country Office. The SGBV Senior Officer will provide technical and operational oversight of the response and prevention activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on contextualization/adaptation of SGBV SoPs, procedures, and tools.
- Provide technical and operational oversight of response and prevention activities.
- Oversee implementation of SGBV interventions and activities in Aswan directly.
- Support SGBV interventions and activities in other locations when needed.
- Ensure adoption of SGBV survivor centred case management, safe referrals, and coordination with health, protection, legal, and psychosocial services.
- Develop SGBV system inside SCI Egypt CO.
- Develop procedures and required SOPs for managing SGBV interventions.
- Lead on developing required tools, manuals and curricula related to SGBV interventions.
- Build capacity of the case management team responsible for managing SGBV cases.
- Ensure effective implementation of GBV response services.
- Ensure SGBV services are conducted in safe and confidential spaces.
- Provide operational and technical oversight to Case workers and coordinators.
- Ensure timely and efficient referral of urgent cases.
- Facilitate coordination with service providers.
- Coordinate with CP Senior Officer, and MHPSS Officer.
- Provide ongoing training, technical guidance, and coaching on GBV case management.
- Ensure SGBV SOPs and data protection policies are followed.
- Monitor data quality and confidentiality standards.
- Supervise and mentor SGBV teams.
- Conduct regular case review, supervision meetings and capacity building to the team.
- Support staff in conducting safe and appropriate home visits.
- Ensure staff adhere to confidentiality, data protection, and survivor‑centered guiding principles.
- Support staff wellbeing.
- Conduct performance evaluation to the team on a quarterly basis.
- Represent SCI in the SGBV Working group.
- Establish effective and up to date referral pathways.
- Ensure effective internal coordination with MHPSS, child protection, and MEAL teams.
- Strengthen community‑based protection networks.
- Provide regular program updates and reports.
- Lead trend analysis, identify gaps, and propose programmatic adjustments.
- Ensure accurate documentation and secure storage of SGBV case files.
- Coordinate with UNHCR and UNFPA the utilization of the GBVIMS+ data management system.
- Document lessons learned, success stories, and best practices.
- Work closely with MEAL team to ensure all indicators and targets are on track.
- Ensure that all relevant data is entered on Prime as related to SGBV activities.
- Coordinate with MEAL team to ensure that the needs of Sudanese refugees and asylum seekers are adequately updated and reported.
- Develop monthly work plans.
- Contribute to budget development.
- Support the project manager in budget forecast.
- Promote children's rights in emergencies.
- Support addressing protection needs of children and adult.
- Support SCI interventions in response to emergencies.
- Support the project team in the implementation of child safeguarding policy.
- Ensure that children’s activities are safe for children.
- Provide leadership and guidance in the implementation of the child safeguarding policy.
- Contribute to the CO risk management process.
- Contribute to the development of communications products.
- Comply with Save the Children policies and practice.
- Embed counter-fraud and ethical controls in all operational processes.
- Ensure adherence to the Do No Harm principle.
- Ensure the security, health and well-being of staff.
- Complete all mandatory training.
- Proactively identify, map, and assess contextual, operational, and safeguarding risks related to child protection in migration programming.
Required Experience
- Minimum 4–6 years of experience in GBV programming, case management, or protection work.
- Previous SGBV Case management experience is a must.
- At least 3-5 years of field experience, with proved experience in training, coaching, and capacity building in SGBV is required and preferably in protection & child rights.
- Previous knowledge, training, or experience in implementing SCI Common Approaches is an asset.
- Good understanding of rural development needs and challenges.
- Experience in working with local partners.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in development related fields, social work, psychology, or gender studies is preferable.
