Overview

The incumbent is responsible for leading, supervising, and managing the Logistics COI Services Team and providing level 2+ service support for Logistics COI Services in operations and exercises.


Key Responsibilities
  • Performs a senior technical role in DCIS-wide level 2+ support to Logistics COI/FAS services.
  • Responsible for the transition of Logistics COI services to the operational environment.
  • Performs system administration of DCOI systems.
  • Performs authorized DCOI services software changes.
  • Supervises or performs required COI systems tests prior to deployments/exercises.
  • Performs interoperability tests for assigned COI services.
  • Investigates and resolves problems relating to Logistics COI systems.
  • Performs COI backups/recovery of Exercise and Operational systems and data.
  • Directs and participates in initial training (OJT) for newcomer personnel.
  • On deployments, supervises technical staff and contractors.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in the operational business processes of Application Services.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Core Information systems (Windows Server, Active Directory, Domain Naming, Group Policies, Desktop deployment).
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in Web platforms.
  • A minimum of 5 years` experience in Application Support.
  • A solid knowledge in Service Management (incident and change management).
  • Good knowledge of system interoperability, LAN/WAN and network concepts.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience deploying and managing server virtualization technologies.
  • Practical experience in creating system documentation and status reports.
  • Practical experience in the use of modern concepts and accepted industry standards for software engineering development tools.
  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure management and capacity management.
  • Good understanding of storage concepts, and backup/recovery policies.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in database management.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in supervisory duties, as head of a team of technicians, with reporting responsibilities.
  • Experience in CIS operational support on NATO/National exercises (desirable).
  • Proven experience in the support of NATO Logistics COI Services (desirable).
  • In-depth experience in user technical support, Service Desk operations and/or configuration management (desirable).
  • Experience in the development/ management of DBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) (desirable).
  • Experience in Web services, MS IIS and/ or Apache Tomcat (desirable).
Qualifications
  • Higher Secondary education and completed higher vocational training leading to a formal technical or professional certification with 4 years post related experience, OR Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 6 years post related experience.
  • MCSA or MCSE Certification or equivalent (desirable).
  • ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation and Intermediate (desirable).
  • Certification in COI System Administrator courses (desirable).

Contract Duration
• Definite duration contract of three years normally followed by an indefinite duration contract (for newly recruited staff).
Work Modality
• The work is normally performed in a Normal NATO office working environment.
Remuneration
• 6,138.02 Euro (EUR) Monthly • The salary will be the basic entry-level monthly salary defined by the NATO Grade of the post, which may be augmented by allowances based on the selected staff member’s eligibility, and which is subject to the withholding of approximately 20% for pension and medical insurance contributions.
