Overview

The role involves conducting field missions to gather data on protection issues, supporting the implementation of PSEAH and gender equality initiatives, and contributing to the development and monitoring of action plans. The incumbent will provide technical guidance, design and deliver training, and facilitate community engagement activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts regular field missions to gather information and data on protection issues.
  • Supports the implementation of the PSEAH portfolio and mainstreaming of PSEAH and gender equality.
  • Contributes to the development, implementation, and monitoring of the WBFO annual PSEAH action plan.
  • Provides technical guidance to strengthen internal capacity.
  • Supports the mainstreaming of protection principles and standards in UNRWA service delivery and programmes.
  • Contributes to designing a comprehensive area level protection strategy.
  • Plans and leads community engagement activities.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with a broad network of stakeholders.
  • Facilitates safe, confidential, and timely referrals of SEAH cases.
  • Strengthens monitoring, reporting, and knowledge management.
  • Undertakes integrated assessment and follow-up of humanitarian principles and protection issues.
  • Prepares reports, briefings, and training materials.
  • Conducts oral and written translations of Arabic and English where required.
Required Experience
  • At least four years of relevant technical experience, preferably in protection, human rights, gender, Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH), humanitarian relief emergency operations or other related disciplines is required
  • Direct experience working with GBV survivors and survivor-centered approach is required
  • Experience and skills in coordination, training, capacity building and mentoring is required
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data is required
  • Experience in driving to field locations and possession of valid driving license in the West Bank is required
  • Experience in design, implementation and analysis of assessments and surveys is required.
Qualifications

A university degree from a recognized university-level academic institution, preferably in social sciences, political affairs, gender studies, international relations, law or a related field
