Overview

Provide and coordinate comprehensive human resources support and policy-related services, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations. Coordinate a wide range of personnel actions and provide advice on entitlements.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive human resources support and policy-related services.
  • Coordinate a wide range of personnel actions including appointments, extensions, transfers.
  • Process requests and provide advice on entitlements.
  • Review, maintain and update confidential personnel information records and files.
  • Provide briefing and debriefing to staff members.
  • Handle non-routine and complex cases.
  • Undertake research and analysis of entitlements and employment conditions.
  • Draft correspondence for Human Resources Officers.
  • Coordinate support to the recruitment process of all categories of staff and non-staff.
  • Advise managers on the preparation of vacancy announcements.
  • Coordinate interview arrangements with departments and applicants.
  • Prepare offers/terms of employment.
  • Provide assistance to managers in the preparation of job profiles.
  • Provide advice on proposed changes to post functions.
  • Collect background information on post management and update organization charts and staffing tables.
  • Research, compile and analyze information and statistics related to posts, staff as well as social security, insurance and administrative law-related matters.
  • Prepare briefs, reports or topical papers.
  • Monitor and verify post management records.
  • Draft human resources policy papers.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of a range of staff development and training programs.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Required Experience
  • Relevant experience 3 years
  • HR policies and procedures,
  • Proven experience in personnel administration and recruitment coordination,
  • The ability to handle complex and non‑routine HR cases,
  • Providing accurate advice on entitlements, social security, insurance and administrative law,
  • Maintaining confidential records,
  • Conducting research and data analysis, draft HR correspondence and policy papers,
  • Supporting job profiling and post management,
  • Contributing to staff learning and development initiatives, and demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, analytical,
  • Client‑service skills with a high level of integrity and discretion
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, economics, public administration and in other social sciences.

Remuneration
A UN Volunteer receives a Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) per month and is paid at the end of each month to cover housing, utilities, transportation, communications and other basic needs. A settling-in-grant (SIG) at the start of the assignment and in the event of a permanent reassignment. Life, health, permanent disability insurances as well as assignment travel, annual leave, full integration in the UN security framework (including residential security reimbursements). Daily Subsistence Allowance at the UN rate for official travels, flight tickets for the final repatriation travel (if applicable). A resettlement allowance is paid for satisfactory service at the end of the assignment.
