Overview
Provide technical support for the implementation of the Protocol to Eliminate Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products and related tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide assistance for the development of tracking and tracing systems of illicit trade.
- Develop and follow road map, timelines and steps to conduct evidence-based research.
- Support in policy research including data collection, data management, evaluation, analysis and in monitoring current research in the area of tobacco control policies and Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products.
- Coordination with International & National organizations, Ministry of Finance and other concerned Ministries & Departments for implementation of the Illicit Trade Protocol.
- Provide technical inputs on implementation of the programs by drafting technical documents related to Illicit Trade Protocol and other International obligation for tobacco control.
- Assist the MOHFW/DGHS in developing the country strategy for participation in Meeting of the Parties (MOP) to WHO FCTC.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s).
Required Experience
- Essential: At least one year of experience in tobacco control issues and/or experience in monitoring & evaluation of large-scale programmes would be given preference.
- Desirable: Thorough understanding of the related international/ national policies, conventions, and related literature.
Qualifications
- Essential: University Degree in Medical Science (MBBS)/Dentistry/ Social Sciences or equivalent in related field from a recognized institution/university.
- Desirable: Post Graduate in Public Health or Social Sciences or other allied fields.
