Overview

The Protection Assistant will support the delivery of quality protection activities to vulnerable individuals and communities affected by the conflict in Donetska oblast. The role will include conducting needs assessments, developing action plans, providing safe referrals, and delivering assistance to reduce protection risks.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide case management services to vulnerable individuals, including completing assessments, developing action plans, sharing information, referring them to other service providers, and carrying out follow up.
  • Provide cash or in-kind assistance to vulnerable individuals to reduce their protection risks.
  • Provide Targeted Individual Assistance to direct and indirect victims of EO/EW accidents.
  • Complete and ensure the safe storage of documents for case management activities.
  • Carry out service mapping to identify available services in the community.
  • Build and maintain relationships with relevant governmental and non-governmental service providers.
  • Implement programme activities related to protection monitoring activities, such as focus group discussions, household surveys, and key informant interviews.
  • Coordinate with other departments in DRC to facilitate referrals and information sharing.
Required Experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in the social, legal, or humanitarian field.
  • Previous experience working with communities, implementing social support activities, conducting awareness-raising sessions, and providing services to vulnerable groups.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s in social work, Counseling, Law or any other related field.

Languages Required
Ukrainian language skills.
Languages Preferred
English language skills at a basic level.
Contract Duration
3-months probationary period with the possibility of extension depending on the availability of funding
