Overview

The Programme Management Officer will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of assigned programmes and projects, providing advice and support to national partners. The role involves monitoring programme development, identifying issues, and proposing corrective actions.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of assigned programmes/projects.
  • Monitor and analyze programme/project development and implementation.
  • Advise and support national partners in the implementation of assigned program/projects.
  • Support the planning process, including preparation of background documents and reporting on objectives.
  • Research, analyze and present information gathered from diverse sources.
  • Undertake survey initiatives, design data collection tools, and analyze responses.
  • Prepare written outputs such as background papers, analysis, and reports.
  • Provide substantive support to meetings and conferences.
  • Support outreach activities, including fundraising and conducting training workshops.
  • Coordinate activities related to human resources, budget, and funding.
  • Supervise administrative staff and perform other duties as required.
Required Experience

A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration or related area is required. Out of the five years, at least two (2) years of experience managing projects in an international organization is required. Experience operating in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system such as UMOJA in approver role is required. Experience in results-based planning is required. Experience in fundraising and/or donor relations is desirable. Experience in monitoring and reporting on programmes, is desirable.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics, law or a related field. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
