Overview
The Programme Support Intern will provide substantive support to the UN-Habitat New York Office, assisting with inter-governmental bodies, inter-agency collaboration, and programmatic and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to in-person/virtual activities, including Webinars and online meetings.
- Engage in research and analysis, drafting and reviewing documents, and interacting with stakeholders.
- Provide general office support, including processing correspondence, maintaining online files, and taking meeting minutes.
- Assist with the organization of events and training sessions, including agenda preparation, co-drafting materials, and providing technical support.
- Support research for papers and reports by collecting, reviewing, and analyzing data from multiple resources.
- Assist staff with stakeholder engagement, partnerships, and participation in events.
- Support outreach engagement, including communications, social media, and website content updates.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent).
- Have graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent.
- Be computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Have demonstrated a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.
