Overview
The Education Officer provides technical, operational, and administrative assistance for foundational learning activities, including gender and disability inclusive education, with a focus on reaching 'last mile' learners in early education. The role supports programme planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, particularly at the sub-national level.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to situation analysis for education programme development.
- Research and report on development trends and data for programme planning.
- Provide technical and administrative support throughout programming processes.
- Work with colleagues and partners to collect and analyze implementation information.
- Suggest solutions for routine programme implementation issues.
- Participate in monitoring and evaluation exercises and prepare reports.
- Monitor and report on the use of programme resources.
- Prepare draft inputs for programme/donor reporting.
- Undertake field visits and surveys to assess progress.
- Provide technical and operational support to government counterparts and partners.
- Build and sustain partnerships with national stakeholders.
- Draft communication materials for programme advocacy.
- Participate in inter-agency meetings on programming.
- Research potential donors and prepare resource mobilization materials.
- Contribute to identifying, capturing, synthesizing, and sharing lessons learned.
- Apply innovative approaches and promote good practices.
- Research and report on best practices for knowledge products.
- Participate as a resource person in capacity building initiatives.
Required Experience
A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in programme planning, management, and/or research in education.
Qualifications
A university degree in education, development studies or another relevant technical field.
