Overview
The Protection Information Management & Reporting Officer will support the coordination and implementation of protection data systems, internal and external reporting, protection data analysis, and inter-agency information sharing.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and maintenance of Protection Information Management (PIM) systems.
- Ensure standardized, secure data collection protocols and harmonized PIM tools.
- Support data quality assurance activities.
- Support integration of Protection Division (PxD) data with broader IOM information management systems.
- Aggregate, clean, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends and protection concerns.
- Generate timely protection dashboards, analytical briefs, situation updates, and vulnerability mapping products.
- Contribute to the development of data products and thematic reports.
- Provide inputs to multi-sectoral assessments, humanitarian response plans, and early warning or anticipatory action frameworks.
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual protection reports.
- Contribute to donor-specific reporting.
- Collate and synthesize data and narratives from across PxD.
- Assist in tracking Strategic Results Framework (SRF) indicators, donor results indicators, and internal performance metrics.
- Ensure protection data and analysis are incorporated into inter-agency reporting, donor reports, global reports, and humanitarian response plans.
- Support participation in inter-agency coordination fora.
- Facilitate timely, ethical sharing of protection data with partners.
- Support development of joint Protection Information (PIM) products with UN and NGO partners.
- Provide technical support and training to IOM staff and implementing partners on protection information management, reporting tools, and data ethics.
- Contribute to the development and dissemination of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical guidance on data responsibility, protection information flows, and confidentiality.
- Undertake duty travel as required.
Required Experience
- Master’s degree with two years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree with four years of relevant professional experience.
- Proven experience in humanitarian information management, preferably in protection or migration settings.
- Experience in the development and management of databases and applications.
- Demonstrated experience in producing high-quality internal and external reports.
- Demonstrated experience managing protection data platforms (e.g. MiMOSA, RIMS or similar case management tools).
- Experience working with United Nations (UN), International Organization for Migration (IOM), or Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) in humanitarian or migration settings is highly desirable.
- Experience of information management work, particularly on data verification, validation, classification and transaction.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Information Management, Data Science, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields, Statistics, Biostatistics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Political Sciences, or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
- Bachelor’s degree in one of the above fields.
