Overview
The Senior Treasury Associate will support the implementation of treasury functions of the Country Office in compliance with IOM financial rules, procedures, internal controls, and donor requirements, in support of programmes and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Check and verify the accuracy and completeness of all payment requests, invoices, and official receipts prior to processing payments.
- Support day-to-day treasury operations, including cash management and bank account monitoring.
- Process and release duly approved cash, cheque, and bank transfer payments.
- Maintain and regularly update records of bank balances and prepare cash flow forecasts.
- Contribute to the preparation and timely closure of monthly financial accounts.
- Verify Travel Expense Claims (TEC) and monitor compliance with IOM rules.
- Maintain and update records of staff salary deductions and submit monthly reports.
- Maintain and update records related to bank panel signatories.
- Support the implementation of treasury operations in line with IOM policies and donor requirements.
- Supervise the staff in reviewing Implementing Partner (IP) expenditures and provide guidance.
- Support the timely reconciliation and recovery of VAT receivables.
- Act as the focal point for treasury-related coordination and compliance support.
- Support the coordination and monitoring of the administrative and financial aspects of Cash-Based Interventions (CBI).
- Maintain efficient filing system of relevant financial and banking documents.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Experience
- Demonstrated experience in financial administration, primarily in accounting and treasury.
- Experience in using an Enterprise Resource Planning system.
- Experience in liaising with banks on operational treasury matters and supporting the maintenance of banking relationships.
- Experience supporting cash programming activities in humanitarian contexts, preferably across multiple sectors, including experience in emergency and conflict environments.
- Experience in supporting project management.
- Strong experience with databases, assessment tools and reporting.
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions or organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience; or;
- High school diploma with six years of relevant professional experience.
