Development of a national framework for AI Ethics in Mauritania, aligning with international standards and national priorities to guide the responsible adoption and use of AI technologies.


Key Responsibilities
  • Review existing national digital documents and frameworks.
  • Map relevant international best practices in AI ethics.
  • Conduct stakeholder consultations and summarize inputs.
  • Prepare an outline and draft the AI code of ethics framework.
  • Ensure alignment with Mauritania’s AI strategy and global/regional frameworks.
  • Present draft framework for feedback and contribute to national workshops.
  • Revise and finalize the framework based on inputs.
  • Prepare a presentation and briefing note.
  • Provide recommendations on dissemination, awareness-raising, and training plans.
Required Experience
  • At least 10 years of experience.
  • 5 years in the domain of digital technologies.
  • Previous experience in the development of national policies and plans.
  • Proven experience in public administration, governance or ethical frameworks.
  • Previous experience in developing AI ethics frameworks is desirable.
Qualifications
  • A masters degree or equivalent in AI, ICT, technology, engineering, computer science, public administration, ethics, or a related field is required.
  • A Ph.D. degree is desired.

Languages Required
• Fluency in written and spoken Arabic is required.
Languages Preferred
• Knowledge of the English or French is desirable.
