Overview
The District Coordinator will oversee program delivery with implementing partners, local authorities, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality implementation of activities and timely reporting. The role involves coordinating with program teams and external stakeholders to achieve program objectives and enforce child safeguarding controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee program implementation in the designated area.
- Ensure timely and high-quality program delivery based on agreed design and SOW.
- Act as the focal point for Save the Children at the District Level.
- Support the Program Manager in managing program quality KPIs.
- Conduct regular field visits to program areas.
- Ensure program documentation and accountability, including community feedback.
- Provide timely reports and project documentation.
- Advocate for basic child health issues.
- Provide technical support to school facilitators.
- Develop annual budgets and monthly projections.
- Monitor budget versus actual expenditures.
- Ensure appropriate controls for project resources.
- Coordinate financial reporting.
- Work with implementing partners to ensure quality programming and timely delivery.
- Ensure timely reporting from implementing partners.
- Develop capacity strengthening plans for partners.
- Lead joint monitoring visits with implementing partners.
- Initiate and maintain collaboration with diverse partners.
- Provide technical support to develop and strengthen partner capacity.
- Maintain relationships with local authorities and stakeholders.
- Represent the organization with partners, donors, and government.
- Ensure security policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Oversee maintenance of office premises and facilities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Ensure effective communication systems.
- Support guests and visitors.
- Manage procurement in a timely and transparent manner.
- Ensure efficient travel management.
- Contribute to the implementation of the Child Safeguarding Policy.
- Strengthen organizational readiness for emergency response.
Required Experience
- Proven solid experiences in partnership management including working with Government
- Recommended a minimum of 5 years of management experience in a contractor, corporate, or NGO environment, including significant field implementation experience.
- An understanding of Community development, School Health and Nutrition (SHN), Dental & Oral health, particularly in rural community
- Proven experience in managing partner and the ability to lead, motivate and develop others
- Substantial experience and knowledge of effective financial and budgetary control
Qualifications
• Bachelor degree in education, Public Health, social development, development studies, or other relevant studies.
