Overview
This internship supports the Technology Infrastructure Support Unit in data centre operations and infrastructure monitoring. The role assists with daily health checks, hardware lifecycle tasks, and tracking environmental metrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with daily health checks of data centre core infrastructure systems (cooling, power autonomy, fire suppression).
- Supporting hardware lifecycle tasks, including inventory, racking/stacking, and cable management.
- Helping track environmental metrics, power utilization, and rack capacity.
- Supporting backup job checks and basic restore scenarios.
- Assisting with the design and implementation support of Radio Frequency access control systems.
- Logging and updating incidents/requests/changes in the applicable management and reporting tools.
- Assisting with any other tasks assigned by the designated official.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
Qualifications
- HS Diploma.
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Field of study must be closely related to Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Telecommunications.
- Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Teams.
