Overview
The Chief of the Data Analysis Unit is responsible for planning and directing the Unit's work programme on statistical analysis and methodological work, providing technical and managerial supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and direct the Unit's work programme on statistical analysis and methodological work, providing both technical and managerial supervision of all activities.
- Initiate, plan and direct preparation of Fund-wide data reports, publications, and other communications.
- Plan and direct technical advisory activities and support the Chief Executive of Pension Administration and the Deputy Chief Executive of Pension Administration in managing the data analysis of the Fund.
- Supervise and undertake the development of new or improved data analysis methods and models for analyses and projects.
- Prepare progress reports and other technical documentation regarding the work programme for presentation to relevant bodies and committees.
- Advise senior management on data trends and developments, advise on effects of potential changes, and recommend appropriate courses of action.
- Plan, organize and manage staff; plan and discuss individual work programmes with staff and evaluate their performance.
- Lead team members efforts to collect and analyze data and provide insight to identify trends or patterns for data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting. Ensure that everyone can discover, access, integrate and share the data they need.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.
Required Experience
A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in the collection, compilation, analysis and dissemination of data and processes is required. At least seven (7) years of experience in management and leadership is required. Experience in providing advice to senior leadership, including in supporting business process improvements, is desirable. Experience in public sector and/or multi-employer pension plans is desirable. Experience in data analytics, process and risk analysis or related area is desirable.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in business management, actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, economics, sociology or related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
