Overview

The UNICEF Türkiye Country Office is seeking a Chief of Communications to lead its external communication, advocacy, and public engagement portfolio. The role involves developing and implementing a communication and advocacy strategy to position UNICEF as a trusted voice for children and young people in Türkiye.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of the country communication and advocacy strategy.
  • Oversee media engagement and maintain strong relationships with journalists.
  • Build and sustain strategic partnerships with government counterparts, civil society, the private sector, and the UN Country Team.
  • Coordinate campaigns and special events.
  • Provide strategic communication guidance to senior management and programme teams.
  • Manage the communications team.
  • Ensure the quality, accuracy, and consistency of UNICEF Türkiye’s public messaging and brand representation.
Required Experience

At least 5 years of relevant work experience in Communication, strategic communications, media relations, advocacy, public relations, external relations, stakeholder engagement, partnership development, campaign management, fundraising communications, capacity building. and any other related fields.

Qualifications

Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations/Communication, communication, journalism, public relations, public affairs, media studies, corporate communications and any other related fields.
