Overview

The National Agriculture and Land Management Specialist will provide technical support for the implementation of land consolidation activities under the GRAIL Project in Georgia. The role aims to support the introduction of a fully operational land consolidation instrument integrated with irrigation rehabilitation.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for land consolidation activities.
  • Contribute to the implementation of land consolidation pilot projects.
  • Align land consolidation activities with agricultural support programmes and Government policies.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of Local Agronomists.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to Local Agronomists.
  • Engage in discussions on making state-owned agricultural land available for the land consolidation process.
  • Participate in trainings and workshops related to land consolidation.
  • Support the drafting of the National Land Consolidation Strategy.
  • Contribute to the assessment, development and updating of legislation, regulations, and operational procedures related to land consolidation.
  • Contribute to quality assurance and technical control of deliverables.
  • Contribute to the development of the National Land Consolidation Programme.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in agronomy, horticulture, plant protection and production, amelioration or soil management.
  • Proven professional experience in agronomy, horticulture, plant protection and production, amelioration or soil management.
  • Proven experience in team supervision.
  • Proven experience of working with rural communities and farmers.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising and providing technical guidance to agronomy staff or field teams.
  • Experience in working with international organizations, government agencies and development partners is an asset.
  • Working experience at a UN organization is an asset.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and large-scale development projects will be an asset.
Qualifications

• Master’s degree in agriculture, land management, or a related field.

• Working knowledge of English (C level for both speaking and writing)
Languages Preferred
• Any knowledge of land consolidation will be an asset.
Contract Duration
3 months with a possibility for extension
