Overview
Provide technical support to MSF missions on Water Supply, Hygiene, Sanitation and Vector Control, and contribute to capacity building of field staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow up Watsan activities in portfolio countries.
- Carry out field visits to portfolio countries.
- Revise Watsan strategy of the mission.
- Carry out functional evaluation of Watsan set-up.
- Assess and validate local suppliers and contractors.
- Develop and implement improvement plans.
- Assist with design and installation of new systems.
- Monitor and supervise established systems and installations.
- Assist with HR tasks such as recruitment and selection.
- Identify training needs and contribute to training content.
- Facilitate team training and provide on-the-job training.
- Develop new policies, tools, protocols and SOPs.
- Draft reports and action plans.
- Contribute to research and development of field tools.
- Propose and test innovative solutions.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of practices and approaches.
- Provide direct field intervention in emergency operations or trainings.
- Support Watsan Team in projects/activities.
- Represent MSF Watsan position in forums and meetings.
- Coordinate and communicate with other departments.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) experience with an NGO in field operations, preferably in humanitarian or emergency contexts.
- Proven experience responding to emergency interventions and disease outbreaks related to WASH activities.
- Experience delivering training and capacity-building activities for adult learners.
- Experience leading, coaching or supporting teams in remote, complex or security-constrained environments.
- Previous field experience with Médecins Sans Frontières as a WASH professional will be considered a strong asset.
Qualifications
• Degree in a relevant technical field, such as Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Health, Public Health Engineering or a related discipline.
