Overview
This role serves as a technical and human link between project activities and affected communities, facilitating stakeholder interaction, mitigating conflict, and ensuring alignment with social inclusion and human rights policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support community stakeholder identification and mapping of needs, engagement, and project impact.
- Implement the Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP), integrating gender-specific protocols.
- Conduct field visits to engage with community stakeholders and maintain communication.
- Respond to inquiries, mediate concerns, and apply solutions to minimize disruptions.
- Arrange, facilitate, and attend community stakeholder meetings and record feedback.
- Promote inclusive engagement by identifying tailored communication channels for vulnerable groups.
- Conduct field-based perception surveys and assessments to gather community feedback.
- Assess risks associated with community liaison and contribute to response actions.
- Report community-related grievances or emerging issues to the project manager.
- Monitor local community dynamics and social media to counter misinformation.
- Support the preparation and dissemination of communication materials.
- Respond to stakeholder inquiries and maintain a log of interactions.
- Prepare detailed monthly reports to the Project Manager on engagement metrics and social issues.
- Document significant project milestones and community impacts.
Required Experience
A minimum of six (6) years of experience in communication/liaison, community mobilization, or a relevant field is required. Prior experience working with national and international organizations is a significant advantage.
Qualifications
Completion of secondary school is required. A university degree (Bachelor or Master’s), or equivalent in Sociology, Development Studies, or a related field is desired, and may substitute for some years of experience.
