Overview
The Associate Durable Solutions Officer will implement resettlement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and develop durable solution workplans to support refugees and asylum-seekers.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement resettlement SOPs and strengthen case identification.
- Develop durable solution workplan for Mae Hong Son Field Office.
- Conduct durable solution interviews.
- Review, prepare and submit Resettlement Referral Forms.
- Monitor durable solution activities.
- Support child protection activities and develop a child protection workplan.
- Monitor UNHCR-funded partner conducting child protection activities.
- Ensure Best Interests Assessment (BIA)/Best Interests Determination (BID) are conducted and act as BID supervisor.
- Ensure data and information is entered correctly into UNHCR’s database.
- Undertake field missions as required.
- Assist selection missions by resettlement countries.
- Systematically apply an Age, Gender, and Diversity perspective.
- Undertake any other relevant work as assigned by the Supervisor.
Required Experience
- 3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in International Refugee Law and Human Rights Law.
- Experience in counselling asylum seekers or refugees.
- Experience in working with vulnerable or traumatized individuals.
Qualifications
University degree in International Relations, Law, Political Science, Social Sciences or related field of discipline.
