The role of Data Engineer involves deploying, operating, and evolving data infrastructure and tooling to enable efficient, secure, and reliable data processing across various environments. The position aims to support NATO's Digital Endeavour by establishing the Agency’s technical vision and IT engineering strategy.
At least 2 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, or at least 6 years of extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post in the absence of a university degree. Experience in building and integrating data engineering components, data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, data governance, planning and maintaining data lakes and pipelines, DataOps principles, deploying and operating data platform tooling in cloud and/or airgapped environments, containerization and orchestration, major cloud platforms, software development practices, and data security best practices.
A Bachelor’s degree from a nationally recognized/certified university in a related discipline (such as Computer Science or Data Science and Engineering).
