Overview
This role assists with analysis to support evidence-based decision making, compliance monitoring, and performance reporting within the Business Transformation and Accountability Division.
Key Responsibilities
- Participates in programme/project development, implementation, and evaluation; monitors and analyzes development and implementation; reviews documents and reports; identifies problems and proposes solutions; liaises with parties; tracks follow-up actions.
- Provides support for communication strategies and plans, including analytical tools for performance and compliance monitoring.
- Supports the development of communication performance metrics and applies insights from analytics.
- Assists in quality assurance reviews of administrative services and drafts reports.
- Assists in providing strategic analysis of programme performance.
- Assists with consulting assignments by planning and facilitating workshops and developing action plans.
- Researches, analyzes, and presents information from diverse sources.
- Proposes innovative ways of presenting information.
- Assists in policy development, including review and analysis of issues and trends, and preparation of evaluations or studies.
- Assists with survey initiatives; designs data collection tools; reviews, analyzes, and interprets responses; identifies problems; prepares conclusions.
- Assists in the preparation of written outputs such as background papers, analysis, report sections, and inputs to publications.
- Provides substantive support to meetings and conferences, including agenda topics, participant identification, and document preparation.
- Assists in outreach activities; conducts training workshops; makes presentations.
- Participates in missions, providing guidance to consultants and drafting mission summaries.
- Coordinates assigned activities related to budget and funding; prepares related documents/reports.
- Performs other duties as required.
Required Experience
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, communications, administration or related area is required. No experience is needed for candidates who have passed the United Nations Young Professionals Programme Examination (YPP) or the G to P Examination (G to P). Experience in drafting communication materials, preparing reports or presentations, and supporting outreach or engagement activities is required. Experience with Power BI for advanced data analysis or reporting is required.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, public administration, management, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in combination with two additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Certification in project management, such as Prince 2 or equivalent, is required.
