Overview

The intern will support the UNFPA Asia-Pacific Regional Office (APRO) team in coordinating regional campaigns, creating and editing web editorial content, engaging with digital audiences, and tracking analytics.


Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting daily coordination of UNFPA APRO’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube), including preparation, scheduling, and monitoring of approved content.
  • Assisting in the drafting and editing of communication materials such as stories, web features, and social media posts.
  • Assisting in the coordination of UNFPA APRO's communications campaigns;
  • Providing logistical and administrative communications support for on-the-ground activities in Thailand as part of the regional and global agenda;
  • Assisting in copy editing blogs and articles to maintain high editorial standards and consistency in messaging;
  • Collecting information from country offices on upcoming content to keep the content planner and social media planner updated.
  • Monitoring UNFPA's digital performance across platforms and producing monthly analytics reports;
  • Providing additional communications support as needed, including research, organizing files, and assisting with online and offline event coordination.
Required Experience
  • Some experience (including volunteer work) with the UN, development agencies, NGOs, or community initiatives.
  • Experience in communications and social media management in a UN regional office
  • Experience in partnership-building and international development
  • Experience in drafting, knowledge management, and project coordination
  • Networking opportunities with partners and UN colleagues across offices
  • Work experience as a team member in a multicultural setting
Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme, or
  • Second-year or above students of a first university degree programme, or
  • Recent university graduates (if selected) must start the internship within one year of graduation
  • Background in communications, journalism, international relations or other relevant fields.

Remuneration
Interns do not receive a salary or any other form of remuneration from UNFPA. However, they receive a stipend to help cover basic daily expenses related to the internship, if not financially supported by any institution or programme, such as a university, government, foundation, or scholarship programme.
