Overview

The Communication and Reports Officer will assist in implementing an advocacy and communication strategy to promote children's and women's rights and support UNICEF's mission. The role involves writing, editing, and producing content for various media and supporting reporting functions.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of an advocacy and communication strategy.
  • Assist in writing and editing human interest stories, press releases, talking points, articles, scripts, and other written materials.
  • Assist in producing and designing content for social media.
  • Provide support to sections in events, launches, campaigns, and other key communication activities.
  • Provide support for reporting, including donor reports and proposals.
  • Adapt multimedia assets for the local audience.
Required Experience

At least 3 years of professional work experience relevant to communication, print, and broadcast media, digital, or another related area acquired at either the national or international level. At least one instance of exposure to emergency programming, including preparedness planning and accountability to the affected population. Active involvement in a humanitarian crisis response programme is an advantage.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, Public Relations, Marketing, Social Sciences. Development Communications, Psychology, Risk Communication and Community Engagement, Communications, Anthropology, Sociology, International development, and/or relevant technical field.

Languages Required
English, Level: Fluent, Required. Excellent oral and written skills, excellent, drafting, formulation, reporting skills are required.
Languages Preferred
Fluency in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) languages is desirable.
Contract Duration
12 months (with possibility of extension)

Remuneration
Entry Lump Sum Allowance, Monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) for the National UN Volunteer Specialist based in Cotabato City in the Philippines; Insurance Coverage; Annual Leave of 2.5 days per month; Access to UNV’s learning and career development resources; and Exit Lump Sum Allowance payable upon successful completion of the assignment.
