Overview
The role provides programmatic expertise in the politico-military dimension of security, arms control, conflict prevention, and related areas, focusing on the inclusion of women in all phases of the conflict cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing knowledge and expertise on integrating a gender perspective in programmes and projects, especially in the first dimension of OSCE’s security work.
- Providing technical expertise and inputs on priority issues of gender mainstreaming, including to senior management.
- Drafting briefings, proposals, and reports related to the promotion of gender equality in the first dimension.
- Drafting talking points for senior management and statements/speeches for the Senior Adviser on Gender Issues.
- Advising on designing and implementing projects and promoting the inclusion of a gender perspective in comprehensive security.
- Monitoring project implementation within OSCE standards and the 2004 Action Plan for the Promotion of Gender Equality.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
A minimum of seven years (or five years with a second-level university degree) of professional experience in gender issues, human rights, peace and security; Solid experience in programme management in bi- or multi-lateral development organizations, including field operations.
Qualifications
A first-level university degree in gender studies, international relations, political sciences or other relevant field.
