Overview
The Supply Chain Officer will be responsible for overseeing supply chain activities to deliver goods and services to beneficiaries in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct strategic planning for supply chain activities.
- Conduct logistics capacity assessment and market research.
- Supervise and manage supply chain management related tasks.
- Lead and supervise supply chain activities including planning, procurement, warehouse management, transport, distribution, fleet, assets, facilities management, and reporting.
- Identify and optimize supply chain processes.
- Review procurement requests and evaluate vendor performance.
- Solicit bids, quotations, and tender documents.
- Liaise with programme management on procurement processes.
- Establish and manage internal control mechanisms for Supply Chain Management.
- Monitor maintenance and repair of office facilities.
- Supervise, train, and guide SCM staff.
- Represent the CO in UN inter-agency meetings related to supply chain management.
Required Experience
- Five years of relevant professional experience with a Master's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, or a related field; or seven years of relevant professional experience with a University degree in the above fields.
- Experience in managing diverse procurement and logistics operations.
- Demonstrated experience in training and managing large teams of co-workers, managing vendors and suppliers.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or University degree in the above fields.
